Getting Ready

Gracie has successfully transitioned to her big girl bed, which means the crib and changing table are happily relinquished to her new baby brother. Once we moved the remaining boxes we'd been hiding behind baby's closed door, Gracie and Steve spent Monday evening putting things together in his room. Gracie helped by handing Daddy screws or the drill, and by making lots of drill noises--she was an excellent helper. She seems pretty excited about the new baby and likes helping us prepare for him.

A few days ago I told her that when the baby comes, that Mommy, Daddy, Gracie, and her baby brother would all be a family. She grinned and said, "Aww. That's happy!"
